February 2014 - Tips, eNews and More

Do you have Olympic fever?

The Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games are finally here. We are all excited to cheer for our Canadian athletes as they go for gold. Go Canada Go!

Are you feeling the chill of the season? We say embrace it if you can. Take advantage of Family Day on the 17th and get outside! Ski, skate, or just put on some snow pants and play in the snow! The cold isn't going away anytime soon so why not enjoy it? Be sure to bundle up and layer yourself well.

Many people seem to get sick this time of year. Here are some tips to stay healthy this season:

  • Wash your hands often, particularly before touching your face or eating
  • Do not share food or drinking utensils
  • Do not share pillows or toiletries
  • Get plenty of rest
  • Be well nourished and hydrated
  • Keep your distance from people who are sick
  • Vitamin C may be helpful but this is a matter of controversy
If you get sick continue with the preventive measures above. Cough or sneeze into the inside of your elbow rather than your hands. Wash your hands after blowing your nose. Consider wearing a face mask. If your illness is more serious stay home and if appropriate, see your physician.

Until next month, stay warm and keep smiling,

Neil Hahn D.D.S. and the High Park Dental Care Team

What Is Dental Bonding?

Do gaps between your teeth make you self-conscious when you smile?

Do you think that you are too old for braces?

Are repeat visits to our offices unlikely to fit your schedule?

You can often eliminate embarrassing spaces without the intrusive nature of braces or other costly, time consuming procedures. Of the several procedural options available to you, one that may fit your budget, time constraints and needs is called bonding.

Bonding has become a very common procedure and can usually be completed in one, short, comfortable visit.
